Life has been busy and complicated and my daily walks have suffered as well as staying up to date with social media. I keep promising myself I will get better at it and then so many things get in the way. Just an update with photos taken over the last couple of years that I never got around to posting here.
Indiana has been blessed with several amazing displays of northern lights that we don’t get to see very often and I have been figuring out how to photograph them. Witnessing them is awe-inspiring and magical. The display of colors was unexpected.
I love how you can see the big dipper so clearly in this one.
The big dipper is there but not as noticeable.
I had a couple of new visitors to the bird feeders this year and a red-headed woodpecker that I haven’t seen for a few years. I was thrilled to see one again.
Indigo bunting
Eastern phoebe (new!) There was a nest on my porch light that they used twice. One clutch had four eggs and one had five. It was incredible to watch them from egg to fledgling.
Male pileated woodpecker
Red-headed woodpecker
White-throated sparrow (new!)
Male rose-breasted grosbeak
Leucistic finch (new!) It stayed around all summer.
A few more long exposure fireworks…
